A peaceful day in the High Atlas, away from the busiest sites. From Marrakech, the road crosses the Haouz plain then climbs to Asni, where the peaks of the Toubkal massif appear on the horizon.
In Ouirgane, a local guide takes you on foot through mud-brick Berber villages, orchards, olive and pomegranate trees. After a Berber lunch on a terrace facing the mountains, relax by the Yacoub El Mansour dam lake, with an optional kayak outing, mule or horse ride.

What should I bring on a day trip?
Bring comfortable shoes, a cap, sunscreen, a light sweater for the mountains or the desert in the evening, and some cash for lunch and shopping.
